ThinkNature Summer School
‘Nature-based Solutions: from theory to practice’

ThinkNature is glad to announce a week-long, hands-on Summer School focused on Nature-based Solutions. The place of the event is Chania, the second city of the island of Crete (Greece).
The training program will consist of two days of inspirational talks and discussions on several topics related to NBS, from technology, practice to financing, business models and decision-making mechanisms.
Participants will be then introduced to two case studies on urban regeneration and ecosystem restoration, through a long field trip in the city of Chania and at the Koiliaris Critical Zone Observatory. The trips will be followed by two days of hands-on training in designing NBS for those two case studies.
The training will include different co-design workshops related to design tools for NBS, identification of co-benefits and barriers, stakeholders involvement and impacts evaluation.
The Summer School will provide the opportunity of enhancing the interactions and exchanges between science, policy, business and society to mainstream the available knowledge into policy and practice.
Therefore, applications from all stakeholders interested on NBS are encouraged, including scientists, government regulators, various industry sectors, spatial planners, engineers, architects, technical experts, market actors, as well as graduate students.
The deadline for application is May 30th, 2019. All information about agenda, venue and case studies can be found on the registration page on our Platform.
